I'm a writer and an editor.

My essays, reviews, and features have appeared in The Oxford American, The Virginia Quarterly Review, The Believer, Guernica, and other places. Right now I'm working on a memoir about growing up mortal in the South at the turn of the 21st century.

My work has been noted in Best American Sports Writing 2016 and collected in Best American Travel Writing 2015 and Scratch: Writers, Money, and the Art of Making a Living. In 2010 I was a finalist for a National Magazine Award in Reviews & Criticism.

By day, I do internal communications at MailChimp. In various former lives, I was an editor at the Georgia Tech Alumni Magazine, an editor at Paste Magazine, a Girl Scout camp counselor, and twice a not-great ice cream scooper.

I grew up in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Now I live in Atlanta, Georgia, with my husband Joe and a dog named Charles Darwin.

Here's some stuff I've written.
