I’m Rachael Maddux, a writer and an editor.

I’m the author of various nonfiction pieces, two short essay collections, and a memoir called Life Expectancy, about growing up mortal in the American South at the turn of the 21st century. It’ll be out in March 2026, and it’s available for pre-order now.

After twenty-ish years in Atlanta, I now live in Chattanooga, Tennessee, where I grew up, with my husband and our daughter.
